Hard Rock Interlude- Deep Purple
October 29, 2009
Following a recent comment made at our facebook page Music-Is-Life, we wanted to give our fans a break from all the drama in the world today and go back to our roots. Back to Deep Purple and back to a little album called Fireball, in the year 1971. (Heh some of use weren’t even born yet!) BUT we at Music-Is-Life wanted to pay respect to a legendary band. Here is the title track (as seen through the eyes of a fan).
Well we must say that Deep Purple was one of the premier bands of its time. While some may argue, we think that talent and longevity is one of the things that will make a band legendary and Deep Purple has that in spades. One example of longevity is the fact that many of the original members, whether still in the band or had left, started other bands. And these other bands were just as instrumental as Deep Purple, and some can argue even more. Can we say Black Sabbath anyone? Some of the bands that were in the in-between times were Rainbow (Blackmore and Glover), Whitesnake (Coverdale, Lord and Paice), Black Sabbath (Gillan and Hughes, at different times) and Gillan (Gillan). And still talking about longevity, the band is still touring today. With new members but the longevity exists.
It’s a shame that the a few of the band members didn’t get along which cause many of the break up, get back together drama. But most bands how this. Fame, fortune, and ego’s all come into play. No one is exempt from this curse.
