Need a little edge to your Band? Need some kick-ass visuals and hot metal/Rock/Hip-Hop fix? Well Mary Magdalan is your band. By looking at their Video, we can see that they have it all… good looks, star quality, visuals to die for and even a good voice. What’s not to like?! They have what many artists want and need, the whole package. Trust us, if you want to be-friend a band that going places, here the is. Not only did Revolver zine say that they are the “hottest sound to hit the music scene in years” Devolution zine also said “Mary Magdalan are more than just a band, they’re an eye opener, a source to be reckoned with.”

We totally respect artists that take no prisoners, so we wanted to bring their music to our growing music community. Combine that with winter 2010 holding the date of their CD “Fear and Loating” with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Lil’ Wayne and Jay-Z, We think this band has already made it!

Today we feature a band/artist whom Music-Is-Life is all about; Trading Voices. Why are we all about Trading Voices? Because Trading Voices is not only a great band, the creator Dylan Fant has his fingers in lots of other pies as well. We don’t think that an Artist needs to limit oneself to just one band. Can we say Slash anyone? Yea Slash moved on when his respective bands collapsed, so it’s a bit different but what Dylan is doing is developing art in different ways for different people and having it all under the Trading Voices umbrella. Simply Genius. Trading Voices MySpace Page says

“I (Dylan) started this project as another creative outlet for myself….an extension of my other project – JMinus. Trading Voices features multiple female vocalists, and pulls musical inspiration from many genres.
These songs are a collection of different perspectives…..stories of love, hate, and life……”

Excellent right?

We found Trading Voices when featuring Taylour Chaneland we can’t be more impressed. This video we’ve posted is one of our favorites. Not only is it tackling a difficult topic, the vocals also have all the inflections of great band that make you think from the past. You know what we mean, you turn on the song and you are transported to a place where it’s all about the music. Think Massive Attack – Teardrop . We definitely wanted to share their music with our growing music community.

Why should you know about The Moxy? Well for starters not only do they have kick-ass t-shirts for purchasing, they have like over 34,000 fans on MySpace. This must mean that they have some value right? They bring an incredible cross section of groove to the Global Community of Sound. Listen to this, they bring to the table post-hardcore to indie to metal all the way to folk sounds. This, of course, makes The Moxy pretty unique. If we look at their website The Moxy we can see that they describe their music as having “throwbacks to the 80’s with synth touches, rock guitar riffs with harmonic and melodic qualities, and vocal hooks that stick in your head in all the best ways.” We here at Music-Is-Life wanted to share their music with our growing music community.
